Akron Children’s Museum
The Akron Children's Museum is the best place around for STEM, imaginative, and creative play for younger kids! We had the best time there with my 3 year old! There were various areas for my toddler to play that are conveniently located on one floor, which made it easy it easy to monitor him while stepping back to allow him to exercise some independence.
Some of the highlights for us:
The creative art and tinkering areas
The stage set up at the Curtain Call Theater for imaginative dress-up play
An entire farmer's market complete with an apple tree that is ripe for picking and a produce stand to weigh and purchase your fruits and veggies
The doctor's and veterinarian office. They can check patients in, use the medical equipment for exams, and even check their pet's xrays
Building with the jumbo blocks where my son could create a fort or wall of protection or simply see how high of a tower he could build
The wind and air stations where he built his own paper rocket to see how high he could launch it and sent scarves through the wind pipe and then try to predict which tunnel they will fly out of
Derby Town, where he got to craft his own derby cars and take them for a race
The water play at the Akron Canal (no need to worry about your child's clothes getting wet as they have water vests and high-powered air dryers)
The Scale the Summit play area which has equipment to climb, slide and swing from
For the little ones, there is a baby area that is filled with various soft climbing and crawling opportunities
With cold weather quickly approaching Akron Children's Museum provides hours of BRAIN-BUILDING FUN for your child! I know we will be back!
